Wing Construction - Wingtip assembly

I thought Van's had gotten their act together with regard to the wingtips. Previous builders had reported that the wingtips were over sized by about 1/2 inch. Mine is UNDERSIZED by about 1/4 inch. I guess, it should be easier to add 1/4 inch than cutting off 1/2 inch, we'll see
